Texas State Compensatory Education (SCE)

Texas State Compensatory Education supports supplemental programs and services for academically at-risk and educationally disadvantaged students. Texas guidance connects the program to needs assessment, student-performance data, planning, evaluation, and compensatory, intensive, and accelerated instruction.

For a school, a potential use is a clearly defined Priority Cohort of students who are below benchmark or otherwise identified through local data as needing additional support. That can create an institutional funding path for students whose families are unlikely to purchase optional test preparation themselves.

SCE is not a blanket approval for every preparation product. The district must connect the proposed service to its needs assessment, improvement plan, student group, and applicable Texas requirements.

Texas CCMR Outcomes Bonus

Texas school systems may qualify for College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Outcomes Bonus funding for graduates demonstrating CCMR readiness. TEA guidance describes the bonus as supporting continued improvement of college and career pathways and student outcomes.

TEA's allowable-expenses guidance includes student preparation for CCMR content and examples such as assessment study guides, college-preparation assessments including ACT, SAT, and TSIA, extended tutoring, and an assessment-preparation course.
